I’m a junior UX designer & researcher based in Chicago, IL, USA. Formerly the sales manager for a 3D printer reseller, I’ve made the pivot to UX to more fully realize my potential.
I pride myself on having an exceptionally strong work ethic, while maintaining a light-hearted demeanor. Empathy is my M.O., and the Golden Rule is my religion. I thrive when working collaboratively, and often find myself forming fast friendships with my colleagues.
Any chance to combine the left & right sides of my brain is a thrill. I love to problem-solve towards a creative goal. I strive for perfection my work, but I also look for the humor in everything, and try not to take life too seriously.
Aside from work, I’m also a gamer, nature enthusiast, animal lover, bicycle rider, art & music fan, and fun-loving weirdo.
Costume Design
Whether its a spooky Halloween ghoul, a cosplay for Comic-Con, or an original concept just for fun, I love putting together a look.
I also love seeing other people’s costumes- its super gratifying to see a clever interpretation on a theme. The weirder the better!
My Precious Angel
My cat, Cricket, is a cuddly and playful little floof. I adopted her as a kitten in 2016, and I’ve been her willing servant ever since.
Have I turned her into a spoiled princess? Yes.
But, she deserves every bit of it. #NoRegrets
Outer Space
I’m fascinated by the search for extraterrestrial intelligence. With the recent discoveries made with the James Webb telescope, I’m always amazed by the immense potential that exists in the eerie vastness of space.
It also makes me appreciate this beautiful blue orb we call home, and all the diverse life forms that evolved to live here.
3D Printing Sales Manager
Before I pivoted to UX Design, I was the sales manager for Dynamism, a leading reseller of 3D printers, 3D scanners, and other tech tools. I became knowledgeable about several types of 3D printing processes, and worked with leading brands such as Formlabs, UltiMaker, Glowforge, and many more.
As a manager I built leadership skills, and developed programs to keep our sales reps aligned with company objectives, while also prioritizing my team’s morale and humanity.
During my time as sales manager, Dynamism’s monthly revenue increased by 20-30% compared to the months before I was promoted to manager.
Jewelry Manufacturing
Prior to Dynamism, I managed dozens of B2B accounts for Casting House, one of the largest precious metal casting facilities in the US.
I prepared custom CAD files to be 3D printed into a resin model, which would then be molded for production, or cast into metal to be finished into a sparkling work of art.
In this role I became experienced with strategic client interactions, managing strict timelines, and I also learned how 3D printing is implemented into manufacturing processes. In this role I oversaw over 100 projects at any given time.
Bartending & Serving
I also spent over a decade working in bars and restaurants, building communication skills and creating customer-focused experiences.
I worked in a broad range of settings, from corporate chains like California Pizza Kitchen, to a mom-and-pop Italian restaurant, to even managing a bar for a summer music festival, Northern Nights.
Throughout this time I strengthened my knowledge of food, wine, & liquor, and I also practiced my design skills with hand-drawn chalkboards advertising specials & featured events.
